A 25-year-old Jesus Fellowship member has been found dead in an underground tank in Nether Heyford.

The victim, was named today by the Jesus Fellowship as Mohammed Majid. A spokesman said he was on New Creation Farm, Nether Heyford when he complained to colleagues that he felt too hot.

Mr. Majid said he wanted to go for a swim in the underground tank on the farm. His clothes were found nearby.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police confirmed that the body of a young man had been recovered from a fresh water well. They are not treating the incident as suspicious and said formal identification should be made later today.

The Fellowship statement said: 'Twenty-five year-old Mohammad Majid, who had been staying temporarily in a Jesus People house in Pattishall, was found drowned in an underground tank at the farm in Nether Heyford on Friday afternoon.'

'He had been working voluntarily on the farm and had spoken of feeling hot and wanting to go for a swim in the underground tank'

'He was told this was dangerous and strictly forbidden. However, he disappeared during the afternoon and some of his clothes were found by the entrance to the tank. His body was recovered by firemen.'

A spokesman for the Fire Brigade said a tender and a pump from Northampton had been sent to the village well at about 5 pm yesterday. He said two firemen recovered the body.
