SERIAL BOMB HOAXER MUST SEE PSYCHOLOGIST - JUDGE

Source : 12/11/2002 Northampton Chronicle and Echo

A judge has ordered a serial bomb hoaxer being cared for by the Northamptonshire-based Jesus Fellowship to be examined by psychologists.

The woman, aged 33, who is being looked after by the Nether Heyford-based religious group, appeared at Northampton Crown Court yesterday for breaching a community rehabilitation order.

The order was imposed by Southwark Crown Court after she was convicted of making hoax calls and control of it was passed to probation services in Northamptonshire when she went to live with the Fellowship.

But the court heard that since the order was made, the woman has been sentenced for similar offences in other parts of the country.

John Lloyd-Jones, prosecuting described the woman as a serial bomb hoaxer and false telephone message caller whose record was littered with such offences.

She should have been dealt with for the breach at Northampton in August, but a warrant was issued for her arrest when she failed to turn up.

Recorder Howard Morrison, QC, said that apart from a psychiatrist, the woman needed to be seen by a psychologist. He further remanded her in custody for the reports to be prepared.
