DON'T BE BEASTLY TO BUGBROOKE

Source : 03/04/1982 Northampton Post

I feel I have to write regarding your use of our village name - Bugbrooke - in your columns about the Jesus Fellowship.

Bugbrooke is the name of the village, the Jesus Fellowship being a small part of it. The Jesus Fellowship also have a large property in Nether Heyford.

Using the word 'Bugbrooke' in a derogatory manner is just insulting to the people who make this village such a lovely, quiet place to live.

If you must have a go at the sect, please use the name 'Jesus Fellowship' Also, I have lived in the village some 10 years and there are two houses in the street I live in with 'Jesus Fellowship' people occupying them.

The only time they have come to me, was after an accident I had, to see if I was OK.

It seems to me that the people who belong to that style of religion, need it, or else they wouldn't be in it.

You can object to the Jesus Fellowship, but people still use the 'Goodness Food' shops in Northampton, Towcester and Weedon, so they can't be all that bad.

Although their way of life wouldn't suit me, I can't see my way of life suiting them.
